The FIFA Soccer World Cup Qatar 2022 will be the XXII edition of the Men’s Soccer World Cup organized by FIFA. It will take place from November 20 to December 18 in Qatar, which got the organizing rights on December 2, 2010.
It will also be the World Cup with the longest waiting time since 1950 compared to its previous edition, since it will take place between the months of November and December 2022, unlike the usual months of June and July.
In parallel, it will be the shortest Cup since 1978, as it will only last twenty-nine days, unlike the usual thirty-two in recent championships.In April 2018, Conmebol requested FIFA that the World Cup in Qatar 2022 already have 48 participating teams, which is planned for the future Soccer World Cup in 2026.[16] In July of the same year, Gianni Infantino declared that the decision could be in the hands of the organizing committee.[17][18][19][20] On March 16, 2019, FIFA had issued a statement in which it affirmed the possibility that the 2022 World Cup in Qatar would have a total of 48 participants. However, on May 22, 2019, at the FIFA Council meeting, the extension was finally officially ruled out for logistical reasons, for not arriving in time for the organization, which will be ready for the next World Cup. of Canada, the United States and Mexico 2026. Ranking drawThe qualifying draw was scheduled for July 2019; this was later canceled to allow each confederation to conduct their individual draws for their qualifying tournaments.
