Throughout the history of mankind, obesity has been present in all cultures and civilizations. There is even evidence of stigmatization towards people with obesity for more than 2000 years. But, in Latin America, Mexico is positioned among the first five countries with the highest prevalence of obesity.
From 2000 to 2016, the increase in obesity in adult women was from 28% to 38.6% and in men from 19% to 27.7%.
