Swimming offers many mental and physical advantages over other forms of exercise. In optimal conditions and depending on the intensity at which it is practiced, swimming can burn between 500 and 600 calories per hour, helping to reduce the risk of developing hypertension or high blood pressure.
When swimming we start the two cerebral hemispheres and the four lobes of the brain, neuronal links are produced and greater activation of the brain that also receives more oxygen. The chance of injury during swimming is minimized because moving in the water is considered a low-impact exercise as it reduces the effect of body weight through buoyancy.
