They are alterations in the color of the skin (generally dark) that appear after some trauma or inflammation, such as a pimple, a treatment you underwent or a topical product that irritated.
They appear in the place where the initial trigger was present and are more common in dark skins.
To treat them I recommend:
- Suspend or avoid the trigger
- Disciplined application of sunscreen every 3-4 hours
- Use products with alpha hydroxy acids such as low potency glycolic acid at night
- Extra dose of patience, they will improve, but it will take time
